    In its search for a new finance chief, the parent company of the Internet properties About.com and Tinder has turned to a media investment banker with a 25-year career at firms both big and small.

    The Internet conglomerate IAC/InterActiveCorp. said on Thursday that it had hired as its chief financial officer Glenn H. Schiffman, a former co-head of media banking at Lehman Brothers.

    IAC, whose founder and chairman is the mogul Barry Diller, is perhaps best known for its sites like Vimeo and The Daily Beast. It is also the controlling shareholder of the Match Group, the online dating juggernaut that operates Tinder and Match.com.

    Mr. Schiffman worked through the ranks at Lehman Brothers, rising to become its co-head of global media banking and then head of the firm’s investment banking for the Asia-Pacific region.

    After Nomura bought Lehman’s Asian operations in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, Mr. Schiffman joined the Japanese bank as its head of investment banking for the Americas...

  2. IAC Names Guggenheim's Schiffman as Chief Financial Officer

    IAC/InterActiveCorp named Glenn Schiffman of the investment firm Guggenheim Partners as chief financial officer, filling a role that had been vacant since last summer.

    Schiffman begins Thursday, replacing Jeff Kip, whose resignation as CFO was announced in June, IAC said in a statement. Schiffman will report to Joey Levin, the chief executive officer of the New York-based Internet media company.

    “IAC has numerous growth engines, an impressive balance sheet and a world-class management team at the helm,” Schiffman said in the statement. “I’m honored to play an active role in shaping the next chapter of IAC’s successful story.”...

    IAC (NASDAQ: IAC) today announced the appointment of Glenn H. Schiffman as Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately. A veteran banker, leader, and dealmaker in the media and entertainment industries, Mr. Schiffman has advised a marquee roster of global clients during his 25-year career, which includes positions at Guggenheim Partners, The Raine Group, and Lehman Brothers. In his new role at IAC, Mr. Schiffman will oversee corporate finance, accounting, M&A, investor relations, and administration functions, reporting to IAC Chief Executive Officer Joey Levin.
