An Illinois resident has filed a talcum powder lawsuit in Illinois federal court, contending that there was never any indication that normal use of the products would cause her to develop ovarian cancer.
Plaintiff Barbara Ross filed the complaint on July 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, contending that the defendants' negligent and wrongful conduct caused her to develop ovarian cancer.
Ross said that she regularly used Johnson & Johnson's Baby Powder and Shower-to-Shower products. Ross, born in 1975, used the talc-based powder products daily since 1972.

Johnson & Johnson in crosshairs of child rights body again

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights has once again written to state secretaries asking them to submit test findings of two baby products of Johnson & Johnson in the next 15 days.
Healthcare products company Johnson & Johnson continues to remain under The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights scanner. The Commission has once again written to state secretaries asking them to submit test findings of two baby products of Johnson & Johnson in the next 15 days. The NCPCR, in May had written to the chief secretaries of five states to conduct tests on Johnson & Johnsnon baby powder and shampoo, to check the presence of cancer causing asbestos and formaldehyde. However, the states are yet to submit their test results. The five states include Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan. The results of the test were expected by July 1. Based on these tests, the NCPCR will come out with its recommendations.
