McCormick & Co. Inc. MKC has been witnessing rising demand for spices, herbs and seasonings over the last few years. Further, the company has been regularly launching products in order to remain competitive. The stock has a long-term earnings growth rate of 9%. However, recently the company had to recall a number of McCormick Original Taco Seasoning Mix bottles, due to unlabeled milk allergen, which hurt customers’ confidence.
On Oct 6, McCormick voluntarily recalled a number of 24 oz. Club Size McCormick Original Taco Seasoning Mix, UPC 52100302461 with best by date codes between Jun 27, 2018 and Sep 16, 2018 due to an unlabeled milk allergen. It should be noted that other sizes of this seasoning mixes were not affected.
The affected bottles were incorrectly filled with Original Taco Seasoning containing whey, which can cause hives, stomach upset, vomiting and even anaphylaxis, in extreme cases in those allergic to milk.
McCormick has received one report of an allergic reaction so far due to consumption of this product. As a result, it has warned customers and grocery outlets to remove the product immediately.

McCormick is voluntarily recalling hundreds bottles of McCormick Original Taco Seasoning Mix due to an unlabeled milk allergen, according to the Baltimore Sun.
Seasoning is not usually something that people with dairy allergies have to worry about, however several bottles were incorrectly filled with taco seasoning that contains whey, and if you have a milk allergy, this can cause hives, upset stomach, vomiting and in very rare cases anaphylaxis, McCormick says in a press release. The taco seasoning affected is 24 ounce Club Size McCormick Original Taco Seasoning Mix, with best buy date codes between June 27, 2018 and September 2018.
McCormick told grocery stores to take the bottles off of shelves, but if you recently purchased this product, McCormick urges you to throw it away immediately, including the container. You can also call McCormick at 1-800-632-5847 to discuss a refund.

The 24 oz. Club Size McCormick Original Taco Seasoning Mix, with UPC 52100302461 and best-by date codes between June 27, 2018, and Sept. 16, 2018, is subject to the recall.
No other size of the product is affected by the recall, the company said.
The recall stems from the incorrect addition of seasoning containing whey into the taco seasoning.
Some people who are allergic to milk could experience an allergic reaction, causing hives, upset stomach, vomiting and, in rare cases, anaphylaxis, the company said in a press release.
McCormick has received one notice of an allergic reaction related to a product covered by this recall.

McCormick & Co. Inc. is recalling a taco seasoning mix that contains an unlabeled milk allergen.
The 24 oz. club size McCormick Original Taco Seasoning Mix is marked with UPC code 52100302461 and "best by" dates between June 27, 2018 and Sept. The recall does not impact any other sizes of McCormick taco seasoning mix or any other products.
The spice maker said Wednesday a number of dairy free varieties of the bottles were incorrectly filled with taco seasoning containing whey. Some people can have an allergic reaction to milk that can cause hives, upset stomach, vomiting and, in rare cases, anaphylaxis.
McCormick said it received one notice of an allergic reaction related to the product.
The company asked grocery outlets to remove the bottles from store shelves and distribution centers and destroy the bottles.
Consumers do not need to return the product to the store but should throw it away. For a replacement or refund, customers should contact McCormick Consumer Affairs at 1-800-632-5847, weekdays.

McCormick & Co. Inc. is initiating a voluntary class I recall of its 24 oz. Club Size McCormick® Original Taco Seasoning Mix, with best by date codes between June 27, 2018 and September 16, 2018 due to an unlabeled milk allergen.
This recall does not impact any other sizes of McCormick Taco Seasoning Mix or McCormick products.
The recall comes after a number of dairy-free Original Taco Seasoning Mix 24 oz. bottles were incorrectly filled with Original Taco Seasoning containing whey. In sensitive individuals, an allergic reaction to milk can cause hives, stomach upset, vomiting and in very rare cases anaphylaxis.
McCormick has received one notice of an allergic reaction related to the product covered by this recall.
The Sparks-based spice company has alerted customers and grocery outlets to remove the product with the affected date codes from store shelves and distribution centers immediately, and to destroy this product in a manner that would prevent further consumption.
Consumers do not need to return the product to the store where it was purchased but are urged to dispose of the recalled product and its container. Customers can contact McCormick Consumer Affairs at 1-800-632-5847, weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. EST for a replacement or full refund.
