It's an embarrassing subject to talk about, but let's talk about it anyway: pelvic floor disorders. Many women have them, especially if they're older than 40. Doctors say it's not a normal part of aging and they can help you with them.

MADISON (WKOW) -- It's an embarrassing subject to talk about, but let's talk about it anyway: pelvic floor disorders. Many women have them, especially if they're older than 40. Doctors say it's not a normal part of aging and they can help you with them.

Pelvic floor disorders (PFDs) like urinary leakage, accidental bowel leakage and pelvic-organ prolapse can happen at any age, doctors say. Most can be corrected, or at least improved.

Doctors from UW Health will host a community presentation about treatment and prevention called "Break Free from Pelvic Floor Disorders" Wednesday, November 9 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Sheraton Madison Hotel on John Nolen Drive. The event is free and there will be refreshments. You can register by calling (608) 417-4212 or clicking here.
