Victor Haibo Xiong, a ten-year veteran of Suntech, will oversee management of the company.
Wuxi Suntech Power Co., Ltd announced that it has appointed Mr. (Victor) Haibo Xiong president of Suntech, where he will be fully responsible for the management of the company.
Mr. Xiong took the position after serving in various roles in the company for the past 10 years. He brings a strong background and diverse experience in the solar industry value chain, successively serving as top management of Suntech and its affiliated companies.
"Mr. Xiong has shown strong leadership in his roles at Suntech, and his management expertise will be a great asset as we look to grow our company," said Eric Luo, CEO of Shunfeng International Clean Energy Limited. "With Mr. Xiong's leadership, we believe that the company will help drive our vision of becoming the largest integrated clean energy provider globally."
Among his list of objectives, Mr. Xiong said he is looking to expand Suntech's operations by optimizing its manufacturing and automation processes. "It is a great honor to lead such a critical part of the Shunfeng group," he said. "Suntech ended 2014 with the strongest financial footing in the solar industry and passed the 8GW mark, shipping more than 30 million modules to date worldwide."The announcement follows news that Suntech was recently re-added to Bloomberg New Energy Finance's February 2015 Global PV Market Outlook's tier 1 solar company list based on its bankability.

China-based Shunfeng International Clean Energy Ltd (HKG:1165) said Wednesday it has generated some 60,361 MWh of solar power in January 2015.
Shunfeng International, known as Shunfeng Photovoltaic International until recently, is a fully-integrated solar company and the parent of Wuxi Suntech.
The biggest contribution to the company's output in January, or 37,112 MWh of the total, came from its solar farms in China’s Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, according to a statement on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Shunfeng’s PV plants in Europe, mainly in Germany and the Czech Republic, produced 931 MWh over the past month. In Japan it produced 239 MWh of solar power.
