China-based Shunfeng International Clean Energy Ltd (HKG:1165) expects to double its revenue and profits in 2015 mainly thanks to a full contribution from PV manufacturer Wuxi Suntech Power Holdings, acquired a year ago.
This was unveiled by the company’s CEO Eric Luo, who told Reuters in an interview on Thursday that its downstream solar business will also help boost profitability. Shunfeng expects to hook about 1.5 GW of solar parks to the Chinese grid in 2015 compared to 644 MW last year and 890 MW in 2013, its head said as cited by the news agency.
The company is also planning a significant expansion on the international front as it targets the installation of 400 MW-450 MW of solar parks abroad this year alone, with a view of having 1.5 GW to 2 GW of plants in foreign markets by 2017, Luo has added.
For the full 2014, Shunfeng reported a net profit of CNY 1.3 billion (USD 210m/EUR 193m), against a CNY-1.82-billion loss a year back, following a 275.6% year-on-year jump in revenue to CNY 5.75 billion.
Luo also told the news agency that the company is in need of light-asset businesses. Shunfeng is getting ready to enter the wind power sector and start light emitting diode (LED) supply, according to the report.
