Shunfeng International Clean Energy (SFCE), a leading global low-carbon, energy efficient integrated solution provider, announced today that it has signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the municipal government of Luoyang, Henan province, based on their shared vision of building a green, low-carbon economy.
Both parties will fulfill this vision by collaborating and building low-carbon, energy-saving projects in the fields of industrial parks, commercial facilities, residential buildings, and transport systems through SFCE's energy management contracting (EMC) model, in line with the planning guidelines of the EU-China low carbon ecological and integrated urban pilot project.
"We are excited about the strategic cooperation with the municipal government of Luoyang and look forward to cooperatively developing a green, low-carbon economy. As the world's leading integrated clean energy solutions provider, we help our customers, which include cities, communities, business facilities and households, cut energy consumption by 50% to 70% with our integrated low-carbon, energy efficiency solutions. We will focus on expanding proven clean energy technologies and integrated low-carbon and energy efficiency solutions to every corner of China in order to influence comprehensive and positive environmental impacts. With the implementation and commercialization of our integrated solutions based on our long-term EMC business model, we will create a win-win situation that both generates income and greatly increases social and environmental benefits," said SFCE executive director and CEO Eric Luo.
Under the terms of the agreement, SFCE will leverage its clean energy technology and low-carbon, energy efficient integrated solutions to develop and implement comprehensive renewable energy projects based on the requirements of the EU-China urban pilot project. SFCE's EMC model delivers turnkey solutions, integrating design, development, financing, construction, operation and maintenance, as well as management for these high efficiency and low emission projects.
At the same time, SFCE will integrate a number of green solutions for hospitals, schools, public institutions, and large-scale commercial facilities and residential buildings in Luoyang's New District and High-tech Development Zone. These solutions will include solar power, ground source heat pumps, LED lighting, and green transportation, which will serve as a pilot project for integrated planning and investment in electricity usage, air-conditioning, hot water supply, transport and low-carbon facilities. Based on the successful implementation of the pilot project, SFCE will expand its services throughout Luoyang city to significantly improve the environmental conditions of the city and the living standards of its inhabitants.
In 2014, as part of its efforts to further promote its diversified development strategy, SFCE began the process of a global integration of its businesses, including the construction and operation of energy storage facilities, an expansion of its solar portfolio across the industry chain, and the operation, maintenance and management of smart power grids.
In 2015, the company entered into an agreement with leading global geothermal energy developer Nobao Renewable Energy Holdings to jointly develop EMC services and secured a 51 percent stake in leading Chinese LED lighting solutions provider Lattice Power. With these mergers and partnerships, SFCE created a complete clean energy industry chain, encompassing solar power generation, urban lighting, urban heating and cooling systems, energy storage, and smart management and operation of energy production and consumption.
Through this broad set of advanced technologies and products, SFCE now provides a complete range of effective, low-carbon and energy-saving solutions for cities, communities and commercial customers worldwide.

EPIA in the driving seat of solar O&M guidelines to secure PV plant investments
May 12, 2015 | Solar Server
The European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA) on May 12th, 2015 announced that a solar PV Operations and Maintenance Task Force has begun work following an initial successful meeting of the parties on April 23rd.
This meeting set the ground for the achievement of promising and business relevant outcomes, EPIA emphasizes.
Best practice guidelines for the European PV sector
EPIA, together with its members, will develop O&M best practice guidelines for the European solar PV sector, over the second half of the year. The task force acknowledges the emerging importance of O&M to ensure the future performance of solar photovoltaics.
First Solar leads the task force
EPIA has brought together expert stakeholders, service providers and asset managers to drive the discussion and produce guidelines that PV plant owners, the financial community and sector can benefit from.
The task force, which is led by First Solar, includes leading solar companies with European and global activities: 3E, 7C Solarparken, Adler Solar, Alectris, DuPont, Enel Green Power, Enphase, Fortum, Lark Energy, meteocontrol, Primrose solar, Solarcentury, tco-solar, Trina Solar and UL.
“It is perfect timing for EPIA to take on the development of solar PV O&M best practices. Without appropriate and thorough O&M services PV power plant revenues are at risk,” said First Solar’s Senior Director O&M EMEA First Solar, Stefan Degener.
EPIA CEO James Watson added: “Best practices to support solar PV operations and maintenance are critically important to solar becoming a serious energy generator here in the EU and globally. Initiatives are emerging in the U.S. and other markets to aggregate industry knowledge into standardized recommendations. With our new solar PV O&M group, EPIA is leading efforts to ensure those practices are available to our sector.”
EPIA will promote these guidelines across Europe and drive the consensus process amongst high-level experts from the O&M and asset management business. The final outcome will be the adoption of the guidelines by all relevant sector stakeholders.
